Valid: Mon-Sun, 8.30pm-6pm from 01/04/24 until 31/10/24. Completing the day: Once you have cleaned, polished and raised steam you and your instructor will attach the loco to the service train (8 coaches), then complete 5 full round trips to Etal. Ride the train: Your experience includes a full day ticket to ride the steam train with one companion. The last task of the day is to ensure the loco is ready for the following day’s service. Day Activities: Be shown your train for the day with full instructions on how a steam it works, how to drive, fire and prepare the train for it’s daily operations. Then you can drive the train with passengers onboard! Safety Briefing: Your day starts with a safety briefing complete with a tour of Heatherslaw sheds and yard.
